MSO combines state of the art technical support service
with one-on-one problem solving to help member companies underwrite business
easily and profitably. In addition to providing on-site training and refresher
courses for all MSO products, our skilled support staff provides the following
key services to help insurers get the most out of MSO:
- Expert guidance in modifying MSO rules and forms
Since no two companies are the same, we work with member companies to customize
MSO products to meet individual needs. Whether introducing an MSO program in another
state or adapting one to meet the specific needs of a target market, MSO product
development specialists work with companies to develop modifications that
are compatible with MSO standard forms and wording. We also provide special
assistance in devising rates for companies introducing MSO programs in states
outside our operating area.
- Assistance with insurance department filings
In addition to assisting our member companies with MSO filings, we also assist
with non-MSO filings. Our technical support staff ensures companies have all the
data needed to meet filing requirements. We also package and submit filings, as
well as handle any insurance department inquiries.
- Simplified statistical coding and reporting
At MSO, we believe statistical coding and reporting should not be a burden on
insurers. That's why we act as the statistical agent for all member companies.
We file summary data reports to insurance departments so our company subscribers
don't have to. We've simplified coding as well. Our MSO Statistical Plan requires
the same coding by line for all companies, no matter how large or small. The plan
also uses the same basic record layout for each line of business, and is
designed to collect only data of vital importance. For companies working
with more than one rating bureau, we can convert AAIS and ISO coding to
MSO for easy data collection.
- Custom statistical reports
Each MSO company automatically receives copies of the routine summary data reports
we file with insurance departments. But because the standard summary reports may
not answer all questions, we also provide companies with custom reports to satisfy
individual pricing, underwriting and marketing planning needs. Our sophisticated
databaseb enables us to code, collect and produce reports on any data a company wants.
Custom reports are available on a basic calendar year, policy year or accident
year basis.
- Hands-on assistance for computer programmers
Our staff will work with company computer programmers and independent software
vendors to incorporate MSO programs into in-house automation systems. We provide
guidance in interpreting MSO products, establishing proper rating and sequence
procedures, and ensuring statistical coding requirements are met. By assisting
at the ground level of program installation, we help company subscribers reduce
the chance of costly errors down the road.
