Insurance companies often prefer MSO programs because of
their flexibility, compatibility with other bureau's forms, trigger endorsements
which reduce paperwork, supplemental declarations which spell out internal
limits, and other favorable features.
Businessowners
Unlike some programs, the MSO Businessowners is not a combination of several
different forms. It is a self-contained policy. Broad coverage options and a wide range of
eligibility classes give you a real edge. The program has recently been updated. Coverage options
and limits now track with those offered under the MSO Commercial Property and Liability Programs.
|
Commercial Auto
The MSO Commercial Auto Program is designed to easily
provide coverage for small to midsize businesses. The filed manual includes rating procedures for trucks,
funeral directors' autos, school and church buses, and private passenger "company" cars. The plain
language policy and easy to use manual give you a competitive advantage. The program enables companies
to write businesses that prefer to place their entire accounts with one carrier rather than
in assigned risk plans.
|
Commercial Liability
The "all lines" classification system simplifies coding and greatly reduces the number
of classifications needed. The same code is used for property and liability. Products coverage is built
into the main form, with an option to exclude it. A basic coverage option form makes it easy to write
risks requiring only OL&T type coverage, without a lot of additional paperwork. The MSO program
retains the traditional rating bases of area for OL&T type risks, and payroll for M & C risks.
|
Commercial Property
The Property Manual is simple to use and easy to automate. Rating is simplified. The one
piece form makes policy assembly easier, and reduces errors. Schedule rating enables you to underwrite
individual risks more profitably. "Idealized" rate recommendations help improve your book of
business by describing existing hazards, and showing insureds how much they can save by complying with
the recommendations. Replacement cost valuation reports can assist you in determining the proper coverage
amount.

Farmowners
Coverages under the Farmowners Program are similar to those of
the MSO Commercial Farm Program. The Farmowners' is designed for smaller family-owned farms. A number of
enhancements are offered such as computer coverage, glass breakage to cabs of farm equipment, fire extinguisher
recharge, and work interruption coverages. Personal liability coverage is also included.
|
Garage
The MSO Garage Program is designed for non-dealer risks such as
repair or lube shops, and gas stations. Like the MSO BOP, it is a self-contained form - property, liability
and garagekeepers' coverages are all included. Coverage enhancements include limited property coverage for
employees' tools, liability coverage for customers' autos, and built-in garagekeepers. Owned autos may be
written using the MSO Commercial Auto Program.
|
House of Worship
The House of Worship Program is patterned after our popular Businessowners. It is a
self-contained, all-inclusive policy. The two-tiered rating system allows you to use a combined rate for
property and liability on lower valued buildings. Building coverage is expanded to include building glass,
stained glass and permanently installed items such as pews, altars and lecterns.
|
Special Contractors
MSO Special Contractors is designed to easily provide coverage for small artisan type
contractors. Liability rates are "per worker," reducing the need for costly audits. Property and liability
coverages may be written in a Businessowners type package, or liability may be written separately. Inland
Marine coverage for tools and equipment may also be included.
|
Commercial Farm
The MSO Commercial Farm program is designed to provide coverage on a monoline or combination
basis for commercial farm exposures. Commercial property and liability coverages are available for farm type
structures and premises. Coverage is also available for livestock and equipment.
|
Commercial Inland Marine
The MSO Commercial Inland Marine program is compatible with
all other MSO simplified commercial lines programs. The main coverage form is
self-contained. Coverage may be written on a stand-alone basis, or as part of a package.
|
Umbrella
The MSO Umbrella Programs are designed to complement other MSO programs, as well as
be used with other industry programs.
|
Personal Lines
Under the Personal Lines Program, covering Homeowners, Combination Dwelling, Mobilehomeowners
and Inland Marine, all provisions are consolidated in the Common Provisions Form. Although each program
has its own coverage and rating provisions, approximately 90% of the rules, rating and endorsement
provisions are the same in the three major programs. The same causes of loss apply to Homeowners, Dwelling
and Mobilehomeowners. The Inland Marine Program is consistent with the other programs whenever possible.
