MICHAEL FARON JOINS MSO BOARD OF TRUSTEES


Glen Rock, NJ - MSO®, Inc. (The Mutual Service Office, Inc.) is pleased to announce the addition of Michael L. Faron to their Board of Trustees. Mr. Faron currently serves as New England Commercial and Arkansas Business Unit Leader of Norfolk & Dedham Group (N&D) based in Dedham, MA, whose member companies serve the property casualty interests of policyholders in five states.

Mr. Faron has served in several capacities at Norfolk and Dedham since joining the company in 1997. He is a graduate of Holy Cross University. Prior to N&D, Mr. Faron worked for several other insurance companies. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran.

When asked about joining the MSO Board, Mr. Faron responded: “I’m excited to join MSO’s Board of Trustees and welcome the opportunity to contribute to ongoing efforts to expand MSO’s products and geographic reach while continuing to deliver the same high quality product development and rating services.”

MSO INTRODUCES PET SERVICES BOP


Glen Rock, NJ - MSO®, Inc. (The Mutual Service Office, Inc.) is expanding the specialty Businessowners (BOP) programs they offer to include an endorsement for Pet Services. The pet services option is in addition to programs already available for such exposures as Bed and Breakfasts, Restaurants, Self Storage, Landlords, Condominium Owners, Dry Cleaners, Funeral Directors and Home Businesses. The specialty BOPs are designed to address exposures unique to each class of business.

Pet grooming and other pet services operations are becoming increasingly popular, with the establishment of businesses that provide pet day care and pet boarding services. Pet services operations range from individuals who walk dogs to multistate franchises providing multiple services. Mobile pet grooming is also increasing in popularity.

The Coverage For Pet Services endorsement tailors coverage for pet services including grooming, day care and other such services. The endorsement is designed to be used with either the standard BOP or the Home Business BOP. Coverage enhancements include coverage for client’s lock replacement to replace or rekey locks, and police department fees charged to respond to accidental activation of an alarm at clients’ premises. Other coverages include loss of client’s property due to dishonest acts of employees of the pet service, loss of employees’ tools, and household pets that are lost while in the care, control or custody of the pet service. Other covered expenses include emergency veterinary care, burial and cremation and emergency relocation. There is an option to provide Loss of Income/Loss to Pet Grooming Equipment coverage, covering income lost due to damage to a vehicle containing permanently installed pet grooming equipment, or to the permanently installed equipment itself. Liability coverage is extended to the legal liability arising out of the pet grooming or pet services operation.

RANDALL PETERS AND JEFFREY KUCERA JOIN MSO BOARD OF TRUSTEES


Glen Rock, NJ - MSO®, Inc. (The Mutual Service Office, Inc.) is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to their Board of Trustees: Randall (Randy) Peters and Jeff Kucera.

Mr. Peters currently serves as President/CEO of Allegany Insurance Group whose two member companies serve the property casualty interests of policyholders throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Since joining the Allegany team in 2005, Randy has led the Group through two mergers, an affiliation and the implementation of a new processing system. The Group utilizes an underlying base of employee knowledge combined with technology solutions to expand products and territories while maintaining underlying quality and profitability. Randy also serves as a director of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies.

Mr. Kucera recently retired as an Actuarial Consultant from Towers Watson. During his 37 years in the industry, Jeff worked with various MSO member companies as well as Top Ten insurance companies. He has served on several Casualty Actuarial Society and American Academy of Actuaries committees, and is a past chair of the North Carolina Property Rating Committee, as well as having served on the Florida Citizens Underwriting and Actuarial Committee. Jeff has given speeches on a variety of personal lines ratemaking topics.

When asked about joining the MSO Board, Mr. Peters responded: “I look forward to serving on the MSO, Inc. Board of Trustees during this exciting period of growth and change for the company.” Mr. Kucera stated: “I feel honored to be elected and look forward to working with the other members of the Board and staff members of MSO.”

We now have a full line of commercial and personal property and casualty programs available in the state, including Homeowners, Combination Dwelling, Inland Marine, Commercial Auto, Businessowners, and the recently introduced Contractors and House of Worship. Specialty Businessowners programs include Bed and Breakfast, Restaurants and Self Storage.

House of Worship and Special Contractors are both BOP type self-contained package programs, including both property and liability coverages in one form. The programs include built-in enhancements specific to the line of business.

MSO INTRODUCES JANITORIAL SERVICES ENHANCEMENT


Glen Rock, NJ - MSO®, Inc. (The Mutual Service Office, Inc.) is introducing a Janitorial Services enhancement to the Special Contractors program. This is the latest addition to the MSO suite of comprehensive and easy-to-use products. The Janitorial Operations Enhancement Endorsement provides many of the needed additional coverages usual for a smaller residential/commercial cleaning service. The program is currently filed and approved in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Other state filings are in progress.

Janitorial operations is a defined term, meaning the insured’s work involving cleaning. This includes: cleaning of restrooms, dusting, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of the floors; trash removal from each area of the premises; and other operations, which may include scheduled floor polishing and cleaning of carpets, draperies, upholstery or windows.

The janitorial services enhancement provides numerous coverages specifically customized to the exposures of janitorial services insureds and their employees: Lock Replacement to replace or rekey locks due to keys that are stolen or lost; Police Department Fee to pay for fees charged due to a burglar alarm triggered accidentally; Property Damage Liability Extension for property damaged while being worked on.

PANHANDLE MUTUAL EXPANDS USE OF MSO PROGRAMS

MSO and Panhandle have previously partnered on the BriteCore Mentoring Program. This system is specifically designed to provide the high level of back office support offered by the BriteCore system for smaller property and casualty companies. MSO INTRODUCES A NEW COVERAGE FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY IN SELF STORAGE


Glen Rock, NJ - MSO®, Inc. (The Mutual Service Office, Inc.) is introducing a new coverage form for personal property in self storage. This new product is currently filed and approved in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The product will be filed in additional states as needed.

The MSO Self Storage Personal Property program is an Inland Marine program designed to provide property coverage for the personal property of a self storage unit renter while the property is stored at the facility. The coverage form is ideal for anyone who has personal property in storage but does not qualify as an insured under an existing homeowner or dwelling policy. Examples include military personnel deployed overseas without a fixed address and corporate employees working in foreign countries for extended periods.

In order to accommodate the diverse needs of our members, MSO is also developing a separate Self Storage Facility endorsement that can be used in conjunction with the standard BOP policy. This offers additional flexibility in the BOP program.
